Description
The Alexa Mini LF is ARRI's very latest camera.
It marks an important moment for the brand, for full frame and for 4K Ready.
The large-format sensor of the Alexa LF with the size and weight of the Alexa Mini.
Thanks to its technical innovation and to a build worthy of ARRI, it becomes the new benchmark for large-format shoots.
It will prove to be a tool as robust as it is versatile within the new Alexa range.
The Alexa Mini LF can be used in confined spaces thanks to its small size and silent operation. The camera body, for its part, has been optimised to be compatible with drones and stabilisers.
The sensor is a 4.5K version of the ALEVIII of the previous Alexas, the ALEVIII (A2X) CMOS. It is twice as large and allows a resolution twice as high as the 35mm format. It retains all of ARRI's know-how in colorimetry, with a low noise level and management of HDR (Wide Dynamic Range) and WCG (Wide Color Gamut) workflows.
The Alexa Mini LF supports several recording formats: MXF, ARRIRAW and Apple ProRes. It records to a new medium, the Codex Compact Drive. Thanks to HDE (High Density Encoding), Codex can reduce the size of ARRIRAW files by nearly 40% during card download, which reduces transfer times and storage size.
The camera uses a new viewfinder, the MVF-2, which is made up of the same HD OLED screen and the same ARRICAM eyepiece as the EVF-2 of the Alexa LF. Very accurate, it allows you to check focus perfectly, as well as the dynamic range of the colour, on set.
The MVF-2 incorporates a large 4-inch monitor for controlling the camera and displaying the image. It connects via a new cable (the CoaXPress VF).
The Alexa Mini LF includes three internal motorised FSND filters, 0.6 / 1.2 / 1.8, which allow it to handle differences in brightness without touching the setup already in place.
The mount changes with the arrival of the “LPL” for full-frame lenses. It is also possible to use lenses with a “PL” mount by using the “PL to LPL” conversion ring.
The camera can be used with ARRI accessories such as the WCU4 or the SXU-1.
The Alexa mini LF offers an immersive full format and the greatest dynamic range of any camera. It is solid and easy to use. It allows a faster workflow. It will be a major asset for your productions!
