Description
Dovetail plate, also called a slide or offset plate: fitted under the camera, it slides into a receiver with the same profile so the camera can be quickly mounted on and removed from a head or a baseplate.
It also lets the camera slide forwards or backwards to find its balance point before being locked in place.
