Thanks to years of experience and close collaboration with many camera operators, Camrade has improved its designs to arrive at perfect solutions for a wide variety of applications. The rainCover Medium is suited to handheld camera work, but it is also perfect when your camera is fixed on a tripod, a slider, a rail system, a JIB or any other camera support solution.
Durable and functional design
Always take the Camrade rainCover Medium with you so that you are not caught out when the weather turns. The cover is supplied in a waterproof zip pouch, which you can use to store and carry it. The cover is easy to attach and detach thanks to its practical design. Leave the bottom open for easy access, or close it with the double straps if the wind starts playing tricks on you. The blue sliding rail lets you bring the buckles to the desired position when the camera is mounted on a tripod.
Clamps around the lens hood
Thanks to a 30 cm rubber band, the rainCover fits most lenses properly. The supplied strap with a hook-and-loop fastener lets you tighten the cover onto the lens, while still allowing you to use the lens, thanks to its roomy design. The supplied zip extension covers and protects longer lenses.
Protection goes beyond the camera and lens
Camrade has included two different viewfinder covers. A small, simple cover for an LCD screen and an advanced solution that covers 99% of today's external viewfinders and magnifiers. The rainCover Medium includes a battery extension cover that offers the option of extending the camera up to 20cm (7.9") at the rear. This extension protects larger batteries, transmitters or other accessories from the rain.
Easy access to what matters
On the left-hand side of the cover, a clear window (24 cm wide by 20 cm high) lets you see the camera controls clearly. The open bottom makes it easy to use these controls.
Just above the window is a hook-and-loop strip allowing the viewfinder and/or LCD support arm to detach from the main cover. You can use either of the two supplied viewfinder covers to use the viewfinder in any position without restriction. A vertical hook-and-loop strip on top of the cover lets you use a top handle or other top-mounted accessories.
Next to the top handle opening is the protection for a standard shotgun microphone inside the camera. This flap is also fitted with a 12 cm wide hook-and-loop strip to route cables and/or give access to an accessory mount for a cold shoe / hot shoe.
The right-hand side of the rainCover Medium has a vertical zip that gives access to any handle and to input/output connectors. A round opening with a drawstring at the rear (above the battery) allows a built-in viewfinder to be used. The opening is large enough to accommodate the camera's eyecup and can also be used to operate the camera's top handle for high-angle shots.
